Quandary

Not that I
don't know
my mind;
it's just that
I am not able
to make it up.
I could erase 
the shadows 
of my past
by simply lying
flat on the ground
or I could face
the heat by 
standing up
for myself
and opening up
to search and
scrutiny.
I am searching 
for that light.
